JOB TITLE: SEO AND SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER
Reports To: Director for News & Media Services
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable SEO (Search Engine Optimization) Manager to join our Marketing team! As an SEO Manager, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and managing our SEO strategy. As our online presence is extremely important for the success of the business, your position will play a huge role in driving our business’ growth and success.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, develop and implement our SEO strategy
- Work towards organic search optimization and ROI maximization
- Regularly perform thorough keywords research
- Identify key SEO KPIs
- Monitor redirects, click rate, bounce rate, and other KPIs
- Prepare and present reports monthly
- Review technical SEO issues and recommend fixes
- Suggest improvements in process and productivity optimization
- Optimize website content, landing pages, and paid search copy
- Direct off-page optimization projects (e.g. link-building)
- Collect data and report on traffic, rankings, and other SEO aspects
- Manage company’s social media pages
- Compile monthly social media performance reports
- Collaborate with web developers and marketing team
Requirements and Qualifications
- 2 years of experience as SEO Manager or similar role
- 2 years of experience in planning and implementing a successful SEO strategy
- Proven success in SEO
- 2 years of experience in web analytics, marketing, and business development
- Proven skills in working with CMS, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- In-depth knowledge of research principles and methods and experience in analyzing data
- Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s success
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
- Good time-management skills
- Great interpersonal and communication skills

JOB TITLE: NEWS WRITER – CURRENT AFFAIRS
Reports To: Director for News & Media Services
Job Description:
To write and publish news on the company’s news website and social media pages daily.
DUTIES:
- Developing story ideas based on leads or as assigned by conducting thorough and extensive research and investigations based on keen observation of facts before him/her.
- Must focus on producing accurate and factual stories.
- Shall be required to produce and publish at least 5 stories per day on the website and most importantly writing stories about (current affairs, education, campus news, gossip, entertainment, business, and technology).
- Shall write stories using proper grammar and following AP, newsroom style guidelines while also ensuring they are compelling and professional in style and presentation.
- Shall edit written pieces by other reporters on staff to check for clarity, grammar, and overall story presentation; make suggestions and assist with any revisions that need to be made.
- Shall rework pieces as requested by managing editor or staff editors and update pieces as needed for ongoing or developing stories.
- Shall arrange and conduct interviews when needed to collect witness statements, get information from experts or individuals involved, or work on a lead for a proposed story.
- Shall be required to create relationships with members of the community, law enforcement bodies, and other agencies to develop access to credible sources for future stories.
- Shall manage Cyclone Times social media pages which include Facebook Page, Twitter handle, and Instagram.
- Shall post and monitor sponsors’ social promotional content updates and share on our social media pages (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram).
- Shall refrain from publishing unconfirmed/ defamatory articles and statements on any media platform of the employer.
- Shall be required to meet all deadlines for projects as requested by the managing editor.
PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONS:
- Should have at least a Diploma or Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication
- Person of high integrity, self-driven, and very reliable
- Should have proven experience in news stories writing, reporting, and publishing on the website for at least 2 years.
- Should have proven experience in using and managing social media pages
- Must have a clear understanding of writing SEO rules complaint stories
- Should be ready to work from anywhere
JOB TITLE: SPORTS NEWS WRITER
Reports To: Director for News and Media Services
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To write and publish local and international sports news on the company’s news website and social media pages daily.
DUTIES:
- The employer/chief editor shall develop story ideas based on leads or as assigned by conducting thorough and extensive research and investigations based on keen observation of facts before him/her.
- The employee shall focus on producing accurate and factual stories.
- he/she shall be required to produce and publish at least 5 stories per day on the website covering both local and international sports news.
- Shall write stories using proper grammar and following AP, newsroom style guidelines while also ensuring they are compelling and professional in style and presentation.
